DIY Portable Ballet Barre

For anyone taking ballet class from home, these are the instructions to build your own portable Ballet Barre from pvc! This article offers instructions for a toddler-sized barre, which I made for my own daughter, but I have modified the measurements for teens and adults! I purchased all the materials, including a PVC cutter, at Lowe’s online and did a drive up pick up! Easy!

Follow the instructions here —>> https://prettypassive.com/diy-toddler-ballet-barre/

REMINDER: The article lists the measurements for a child-sized barre. Please use my modified measurements listed in the photo below!

TIP: The best tip I got from these instructions is to measure, mark & cut. Compare matching cuts regularly - even if you are slightly off, the second piece can still match if compared before it is cut! I recommend this pvc cutter —>> https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-1-1-4-in-PVC-Cutter/1002600024

DIY Sprung Tap Boards

I purchased the largest square board from my local hardware store, maybe 3/4” thickness. You can tap on the board as is, or to make the board sprung follow these directions:

  1. Cut small foam squares, tiles or pool noodle circles

  2. Place the foam on the bottom side of the tap board, making sure to allow space between each of the pieces of foam. The goal is to create open space/hollow space between the board and the floor underneath, to allow for your tap sounds to resonate.
